I'm a born teacher. I am extremely patient and just love to teach people things. It doesn't matter if it's music, languages, or something completely difficult. Maybe it is because I like being in charge... I taught my first (paid) lessons when I was just 16. A trumpet player from my wind band was looking for a flute teacher for his daughter. I had just started flute lessons myself, but my teacher had recommended me because I was advancing very quickly and seemed to have a clear view of what I was doing. The girl I taught behaved badly, she never practiced, she hated music and she hated playing the flute. But I taught her for four years, after which she continued playing in the wind band. By then I was already studying at the conservatory and I loved helping others to study for their intonation, dictation, theory, harmony or applied harmony exams. In 2008 I took over a small clarinet class from my friend and at that same local academy I taught clarinet, solfège, initiation, and piano in the following years. When I moved to Spain in 2013 I got a job teaching at a local wind band and I stayed there for two years. Meanwhile I also taught fellow students at the conservatory and helped them prepare their exams (harmony, analysis, and solfège). Since 2015, I've been and English teaching assistant and I've been teaching English through private classes, as well as piano at a local neighbourhood association.
My goal is to make music accesible for everyone. I love teaching adults, but I realise that they are not too easy to teach, because they can be very stubborn and one needs a lot of patience. I adapt my teaching methods to the needs of every student and try to give them exactly what they need. The goal is not to make them the best musicians, it is to make them the best musicians they can be, trying to be better than yesterday's self, and, above all, be passionate about music. If you spread both wisdom and love, you'll get music in return.
